All Saints’ Church is available for infant and adult baptisms. Baptism services (sometimes called Christenings) are usually held during our Sunday morning Holy Communion service at 10am. In special circumstances, we can also hold a separate service just for your family and friends.

Baptism is a service to thank God for his gift of life and to start on a journey of faith for you or your child. For infant baptisms, parents and godparents promise to help and support the child as they grow in the faith of the church. Being baptized marks the start of a lifelong journey of faith as part of the local and worldwide Christian family.

For more information about baptisms at All Saints’, please contact us.

Confirmation

Have you been confirmed? Confirmation is the beautiful service when we confirm the vows which were made at baptism and when the bishop lays his hands on us and we receive the gift of the spirit.

Would you like to be confirmed? We usually hold a session of confirmation classes each year for older children and adults.

If you would like to know more about confirmation or would like to join a class, please contact us.

Banns

Do you live in South Oxhey or Carpenders Park and are planning to get married in a Church of England church? Even if you are getting married at a different church, you may still need to have your banns read at All Saints’ if it is your local parish church.

In the majority of cases, your wedding banns must be read on three consecutive Sundays before your wedding date. This must be done at both the church you will be married in and the local parish church where you live if this is different. You may also require a banns certificate to show the vicar at the church where you are getting married.

To find out whether you live in our parish of All Saints’, Oxhey, please visit the website A Church Near You → and click on “Find Us” for a map of the parish boundary.

To discuss whether you require banns to be read at All Saints’ Church, please contact us.
