We have an open meeting in the church on Wednesday 1st December 2021 at 7:30pm. This meeting will be hosted by Archdeacon Jane Mainwaring and Peter Waddell our Rural Dean. This meeting is an opportunity to find out about how All Saints’ will run during the vacancy period and to start the process for finding a new vicar. Everyone is welcome and we would love to see you there.

If you need any support or want to speak to a priest for any reason during this time, please contact us and we will put you in touch with a minister from one of our neighbouring parishes. You can contact us by phone on 07470 929670 or email office@allsaintsoxhey.org.uk.

Thank you Pam and all the best for your retirement

After 18 years, today we said a fond farewell to Pam Wise as she retired as the vicar of All Saints’ church. We are all really sad to see Pam leave but wish her all the best for her well deserved retirement. She has had a remarkable time at All Saints’, spending many years as chair of trustees at ASCEND and establishing South Oxhey Community Choir. Pam was even honoured with an OBE for her dedicated work in our community.

We were joined by lots of friends today, including three of the four curates Pam has trained while she was here.

Thank you Pam for everything and we look forward to seeing lots of great photos around your new home by the sea.

Here are a few photos from today, and you can watch the full service on Facebook.

Farewell to Liz

After 3 years with us, Liz Guest has completed her training and curate posting with us and it is time for her to move on to her new post as associate priest at St Peter’s Church, St Albans.

We will be saying farewell to Liz on Sunday 19th September. Please join us for Liz’s last service which will be followed by a small celebration of tea, coffee and cakes. It would be lovely to see many of you there to thank Liz for all she has done during her time at All Saints and wish her well as she moves on to the next stage of her ministry.

The church has now been opened up so it looks much more like normal and we are no longer limiting congregation numbers. We are continuing to have COVID precautions in place. We are asking everyone to keep wearing face masks if they are able to and to use the hand sanitiser provided when arriving and as required while in the building. We will ensure there are chairs spaced apart for those who wish to maintain social distancing. And we will continue to live stream our Sunday services on Facebook Live if you are unable to join us in church.

Solar Aid

SolarAid is an international charity that combats poverty and climate change, by providing access to solar lights in some of the most remote regions of Malawi and Zambia through their social enterprise, SunnyMoney.

598 million people in Africa have no access to electricity and without this families have no clean source of light, leaving them to rely on expensive and dangerous alternatives such as homemade kerosene lamps. However, with a solar light, everything changes. The lamps are safe, clean and affordable, and give off hours of light in the evening so families can earn, learn and feel safe after dark. Just one lamp can transform the fortunes of an entire family.

Sunnymoney Solar Aid believe that universal access to renewable energy is the best way to alleviate poverty. And the best way to ensure universal access to energy is by building local, sustainable businesses. In 2008 they set up a social enterprise who are one of the main sellers of solar lights in Africa. They travel to remote rural communities educating people about the benefits of solar lights, instilling trust and creating demand in a new and unfamiliar technology – which builds the foundations for a sustainable solar market and a lasting energy legacy.
